Today is Michael Shapcotts birthday and today starts his project “Drawing a Drawing 365″. Until 25th april you were able to pledge at kickstarter.com. Michael Shapcott is one of my favourite artists. He is specialized in portraits because for him the human face is the most interesting because it transports a lot of emotions etc.. But back to the project. Michael Shapcott wants to draw a portrait every day the next 365 days. On one side it shall challenge the artist and develop his skills and on the other side he wants to share how his art pieces are made. For that there will be tutorials. He promises that those tutorials are very detailed and different from what you are used to. He wants to built up a connection to his fans so he doesn´t just take the money but gives something back like tutorials and regarding the amount of money one gave you get signed prints, DVDs or a personal portrait within the 365 days project. For this he opened up a special Tumblr-Blog where the portraits and all the other information gets collected. I´m really curious how his work will develop during this year and how the portraits will look like. So happy birthday Michael and rock the next 365 days!
