Since January now i own a Kindle Paperwhite. My parents gave me it for christmas but Amazon wasn´t able to deliver before January. I waited impatiently for the packet and was even more excited when it arrived and i could open it avidly. I got the nice case for the Kindle on Christmas with a funny note that the rest will come later. Right after unpacking it i put the device into the case. It was easy and till today it fits perfectly. Nothing is damaged or loose. The price of 129 Euro regarding this good quality of the e-reader is totally acceptable.

Comfortable Usability

The usability of the Kindle Paperwhite is super easy and you understand it very fast without manual. I just followed the note for starting it for the first time and for how to charge the device. When it was charged i made an account and connected my Kindlle to my Amazon account. Everything is super easy and even people who don´t have a clue about technology can handle it. On top of the screen you can get to the book shop where you can buy and download books very simple. Or you can flip through the book you have. In the lower area of the screen there are recommendations by Amazon. I think it is clear and practical.

Reading with the Kindle Paperwhite

First i wasn´t sure if i would like to read with an e-reader but i after 5 seconds the skepticism disappeared. The device lies good in the hand and is not too heavy. You can change the fonts and size of them and you can change the light of the display quite easy. Sometimes in the evening i read without light in the room and my eyes still don´t hurt. The display has proved and the view is sharp and very good to read. I take my Kindle with me everywhere all the time and also read in the subway. Especially there the display shows how good it is. My line drives obove the street and then later gets into the underground. At no moment the light limits the readability. I was able to go on reading without interruption. Another plus is that the Kindle Paperwhite is quite light with its 213 gramm and it doesn´t slide out of your hand. And you can´t push buttons accidently. It is slim too so it fits in almost every handbag. Really wonderful.

Shopping with the Kindle Paperwhite

So far i bought more e-books via Kindle that via Amazon on my computer. It is really simple and the offer of e-books is really wide spread. For example you can get classic books like Kafkas works for 99 cents. A little education ain´t hurt nobody right? The navigation in the shop on the Kindle is ok and clear. Somehow i lately prefer to search for books on Amazon directly with my computer or iPad. It´s a little more comfortable. At least i feel like that. But it is very practical when you travel so you can buy books even without the computer. I read a lot of books at the same time or i read them through quite fast. At a hourlong ride with the train it would be very practical to get new books.

Equpiment for the Kindle Paperwhite

So here comes the little minus. There is a connection cable for the computer to charge the device but there is no adapter for the socket. This you have to buy extra. With my iPad came an adapter for the socket and i tink it should come with the Kindle too. Although the battery of the Kindle last 8 weeks i don´t always want to bring my laptop with me just to charge the Kindle. So that´s why i soon buy such a connection cable or adapter for the socket. Like for the iPad i recommend to use a sleeve or case to keep dust away and avoid it from scratching. I have an original Kindle Case with lid in black. It works like open up a book. Lift the lid and there you go. The device remembers where you were in the book so you can just go on reading after a break. The Kindle cases come in many colours and also other companies produce nice sleeves and cases. There are also stickers for the device on the market.

Conclusion

The Kindle is comfortable to use, very good in quality and worth its money. In my case it won´t replace a real book out of paper because i really love to hold books in my hands and to smell them. The sound of book pages delivers another reading experience. Nevertheless the Kindle is so practical that i use it parallel to normal books. What´s practical is also that you can read in bed without light so your partner can sleep and you can dive into the worlld of the stories for some time. So far i haven´t found a big minus and i´m still very happy with the Kindle Paperwhite.

There are days where nothing works out. The storm cloud follows like in a comic. Bad news and things that go wrong just drop on your head. It is to go up the wall and although you know it doesn´t help you´ll be grouchy and maybe be unfair to others. I don´t like myself in such a state and i get enervated by my whining and moaning quite fast.

And that´s how i look at it too. Most of the time i try to overcome my anger or the frustration fast. Meanwhile, I have a few things I do when nothing works again. To swallow the fury and the anger doesn´t work. Ignoring it doesn´t work too. So i give myself space to be angry but on the other side i tell myself that it doesn´t make sense to be angry forever and it is more practical to work on a solution. Most of the time the problems in my life are solvable and just disturb the day temporarily. It probably has to do with the fact that nothing really knocks me over forever anymore and in general with my view on life. For years i slowed myself down and when i was angry i threw the towel not just once. I couldn´t stand my behaviour anymore and started to think different.

Sometimes you have to let the anger out to be able to work again. If something goes wrong in the office or there is trouble i´m not happy in the first place of course but the my ambition arouses to find a solution. Sometimes the first thing i do is to leave the office. Either i go into the kitchen and make some tea or i prepare a little snack. While doing something completely different the head gets free again and after it you can work on a solution immediatly. If the anger is extrem and you have to wait then it can happen that i leave the office and do other things like buying food or i simply take my camera with me. That frees the mind and you can get back to work later.

I already mentioned it that i like to spend time and experimenting in the kitchen. But i equally like besides cooking and baking to buy funny gadgets and tools for the kitchen. To work in the kitchen is twice as fun with it and brings a little colour into the game. If it is practical too then everything is perfect. Since i live on the other side of Germany here in Berlin i can´t see my family as often as i would love to. You can´t drive through the republic just like that and everything has to be planned. I miss those Sunday family lunches or simply the walk to the house of my parents. Sometimes i also miss the country life when Berlin is extra mean again. Especially the winter in Berlin is unbelievably dark and can lower your mood a lot. That`s why i´m even more happy when there is a visit from home and i can dream about what to do during those days and nights. This summer i get plenty of visits and i hope there is enough room and time to enjoy it to the fullest. I´m an absolute family person and i´m always happy when i can spend time with all of them.

This is so true. Especially when your life doesn´t get ruled by money and the search for the perfect status in society. If you simply let the other one live and take care of each other i think that´s the best basis. Of course there is not always peace within the family. Mine wasn´t always so peaceful like today as well. Discussions have to be led but as long as it is with respect peace will stay. I think every family should give their best to hold on together and treat each other with respect.

Sometimes when you switch the tv channels and see those horrible “family” shows you just can be shocked. Often i ask myself why the hell do they treat each other that way? Why do some people who get children have no interest in being a role model or giving them a good education. Children are our future and we should give our best to help them to find a good way into life. And i´m not talking necessarily about money.

It´s about teaching them how to treat people right, how to find their own opinion simply how to be a good human and making them aware of that what they do can have an impact on their surrounding. Just lately since i think a lot about children and family i often ask myself who was it for my parents and what they think where they failed or what they think they did best. Did they have education goals or different opinions about how to raise the child? I never asked. I know roughly what i want to teach my children later but i think you will never be perfect and mistakes will happen again and again. This is just human. Important is i think that when there is a problem you should find a way of communication together and not simply turning away and walk the other way. And to forgive.

I´m really thankful for my family because there is so much peace and you can talk about everything very open. If i should be so lucky to have a family myself i hope i can keep the luck and peace. Because nothing is making the future better that people who bring peace and respect. It is so important to consciously interact with people and to think about how little things can cause a positive change. The visit from home doesn´t have to be pure horror and the relatives not unloved visitors. So give them a chance and get into the adventure that is family. Maybe it´s worth it and with a little communication old walls can be torn. The luck comes really naturally if the family is peaceful. Because where there is peace you can focus more on the life together and fill the days with luck and happiness.

Little things that made me smile this week

I´m a bit a technology lover and i have some stuff at home. Because i take my Kindle and iPad with me when i´m running around town i over and over again search cases that are A practical and B perhaps match my outfit. You also look that your purse matches or the shoes to the skirt. Right? Anyways from time to time i get lost in the big internet and stumble over nice things here and there. That´s what i found on my last tour. The iPad case from Fossil with the bird print really caught my eye. Perhaps i really go and get it.
